Program Description: 
A story time just for you at your neighborhood library! Introduce your little ones to the library and create excitement about reading. Attending story times and using resources of the library helps build a foundation for your child’s future success in school. Connect with others while enjoying books, music, rhymes, a flannel board story and craft. A professional librarian will lead story time and share tips on reading readiness.

Story and craft times introduces children to the library and teaches the six early literacy skills: narrative skills, letter knowledge, print awareness, phonological awareness, print motivation and vocabulary.

Satisfy Curiosity: Visitors explore their interests using the variety of information at the library.
Why will this program be successful?: 
Story and craft times have been well attended and families demonstrate they find them beneficial for their children to create interest in reading.

Attendance of 12 or more children at story time session. Families will use additional resources of the library while on their stay at the library.

Final Comments: 
In the first three to four months of 2017, story time craft activities will be organized around utilizing miniature flannel board figures for children to take home that can be used to retell the stories that they hear in story time at the library.
