Program Justification
Is a program the best way to meet the expressed need or present information?:
Yes
Does the program fit the goals of the MLS?:
Yes
How & why does this program meet the goals of the MLS?:
Targets a highly underserved group to promote new membership and member retention. Teaches care for the body (Life Skills) while involving Playful Learning.
Which Strategic Plan Response/Goals does this program meet?:
Satisfy Curiosity: Visitors explore their interests using the variety of information at the library.
Why will this program be successful?:
We have had many comments and requests for more tween programming, as they are a historically underserved group, too old for many of the children's programs, not old enough for the teen programs, and still young enough to have schedule space and high interest in library programming. This targets tween girls' emerging interest in their bodies and makeup, while including a healthy attitude toward beauty and an emphasis on total body wellness.
How will success be measured/determined?:
attendance, participant enthusiasm and feedback
