Bicycle Repair Stations

Submitted by tara.golden on Fri, 07/15/2016 - 15:46
Type of Pilot Project:
Public Service
Describe Project and Impact:
Provide access to air and bike tools to our cycling customers
Project Description and Expected Outcomes:
By installing a bike tool kiosk, we would meet an important need of our biking costumers - tools and access to free air. Not only would this provide a much needed convenience to our current cycling members, but this could make us a destination for others who bike in the city who don't currently come to our location. It would also be a valuable external tool in showing members that we have much more than just books.
Why should we select this project?:
It would address a need of a set of our members. It would help encourage biking as a viable transportation method. It would increase our points of service.
Constraints, Limitations, or Dependencies:
The machines would require periodic maintenance and replacements.
Source of Inspiration:

There are a few of these stations in the Deep Deuce and the Paseo neighborhoods. However, these could be just as valuable in outlying areas, such as SW OKC and Midwest City.
