In an effort to hire the best qualified person for every job, we have updated SH 310 "Prohibiting Future Hiring of, or Contracting to Hire, Close Relatives of Commission or Staff" (now SH 310 Nepotism) to allow the library to consider hiring relatives of current employees who are not in the same reporting/budget line or who are not employed in sensitive departments or positions (see policy for list of departments/positions). Now that we are allowing the organization to hire relatives of staff, we included more information on how to address any situations that might arise from nepotism in the workplace. Please review the attached policy.

This policy will go into effect on August 1, 2016.
