Sharing in playtimes is an excellent way to help children build social skills, promote learning and discover that the library is a destination for fun! Children will have the opportunity to practice skills such as: following directions, socializing with others, using language, using small and large muscles, and remaining in control during play.

Terrific Tuesdays as a recurring event allows school age children to engage with their families and community in a safe environment. It builds communities and allows children to express their identity through play.

Why will this program be successful?:
Traditionally we have seen excellent attendance on Tuesday summer programming. Amy and I attended a training on parachute play last year and we have already reached out to Rondia and Mary at NW to learn what the discovered as best practices when offering this program at their location.

Final Comments:
We will be borrowing more parachutes from outreach. Also, I put the blurb from the blurb bank, but we will actually be using a recurring terrific Tuesday blurb and then will list specifics on a poster displayed at the front of the children's area. This program is being offered collaboratively with Amy Thomas. Because we are not using an outside presenter, we will both need to be off desk that afternoon.
