Program Justification
Is a program the best way to meet the expressed need or present information?:
Yes
Does the program fit the goals of the MLS?:
Yes
How & why does this program meet the goals of the MLS?:
Offering this "program" or short-term service will allow our customers to engage with tools they might not normally get to engage with because they don't have time to come to one of our programs using them or they don't have them available in any other way. It will also allow us to see if this sort of offering would be popular if we had it available all the time.
Which Strategic Plan Response/Goals does this program meet?:
Satisfy Curiosity: Visitors explore their interests using the variety of information at the library.
Why will this program be successful?:
This program will be something that will appeal to many different interests. There will be technological opportunities as well as crafting opportunities.
How will success be measured/determined?:
by participation and possibly a short survey asking what each person used in the maker space and if it's something they would use if we had it available more often.

Is sufficient time available to have a Info Magazine Listing?:
Yes
Is sufficient time available to request MaC materials and display them for at least 2 weeks (45 days)?:

Community Engagement

How will you promote this event to the community?:
Create an in-Library Book Display or Exhibit
Share event in a community calendar, newsletter, or newspaper
Share on my personal Social Media sites (Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram)
Submit for sharing on Library System's Social Media sites
Up-sell the event with customers (verbally or with printed Marketing pieces)
What library resources and services will you connect to this program?:

Books, databases and other programs.

Are volunteers needed?:
Yes

Supplies

Are supplies needed?:
No supplies are needed for this particular program.
Final Comments:
My thoughts are that we will have volunteers signed up to help in the makerspace when we aren't having other programs in the community room and a librarian (me when I'm here) will check in on what's going on. We can have a few crafting kits available for checkout or something while there are other programs going on. The execution will take some communication and a tad more staff involvement but if we can get maybe 3 or 4 staff on board and 2-4 volunteers I think it will be very successful.
Are you ready for your supervisor to evaluate this program?:
Yes
