Midwest City Closing

Midwest City Library will be closed for two weeks from Monday, April 13 - Sunday, April 26, 2015 to get new carpet & floor tiles, replace the ceiling tiles and new paint on the walls in the back work room areas.

This is our first closure with our new ILS so there are a few changes to our process.

March 30	April 26	MC only	MC staff offer customers requesting ILL service the option of selecting a different pickup library. Remember to forward the yellow copy of the form to the pickup library.
March 30	April 26	MC only	MC staff remind customers checking out ILL materials to return them inside any of our other libraries, not in a book drop.
March 30	April 20	ILL only	ILL staff will hold all requests to borrow materials received for pickup at MC.
March 30	April 26	MC only	Any material (including ILL) checked out at MC beginning March 30^th will automatically have a due date of April 27^th.
March 30	April 26	TLC	MC’s holdings will be suppressed in the LS2 Pac catalog. If MC is the only library that owns a title, the Bib record will also be suppressed. (This is LS2 Pac catalog, not the staff catalog)
April 4	April 26	TLC	MC’s name will be removed from the “limit by location” list in the LS2 Pac catalog. MC customers' holds will be suspended 9 days before they close; the "suspend until" feature will automatically reactive them when the MC reopens. Staff may still change the pickup location for the customer and re-activate their hold.
April 4	April 26	TLC	Modifies MC’s name in the “hold pickup branch” list to say “Midwest City Library closed through April 27, 2015”.
April 4	April 26	TLC	Runs a nightly script to also suspend any holds placed each day until MC reopens.
April 4	April 26	TLC	Will show no items on MC’s “Pick” list unless it is the only library that owns the title.
March 25	April 24	ILL only	ILL staff stops routing materials for pickup at MC. Any ILL materials received for MC customers will be held for routing or will be returned & re-requested after MC reopens.
March 30	April 26	All agencies	Staff at all libraries will check in any ILL materials returned by MC customers and route the materials to ILL.
April 13	April 26	MC only	When computers are available, MC staff will continue to clear their book drop and route materials that have holds. If any are ILL materials clear and route to ILL. If you receive any item that has a “hold label” already on it do not run the “return” function.
April 20		ILL only	ILL staff submit requests of materials for pickup at MC.
April 22		ILL only	ILL staff prepare ILL materials held for MC customers for routing.
		All agencies	Staff may begin filling holds for MC on Monday, April 27^th.
