In addition to the public side of Summer Reader, there is also a administrative module [1] that allows library staff and teen volunteers to complete various customer service actions during the program.

  • Update Customer Log [9]
  • Award Incentives [10]
  • Remove Awarded Incentives [11] (Staff Only)
  • Add Reviews [12]
  • Add Family Members [13]
  • Transfer Registration [14] (Staff Only)
  • Delete a Customer [15] (Staff Only)
  • Merge Customers into a Single Account [16] (Outreach Only)
  • Generate Reports [17] (Staff Only)
  • Summer Reader Icons [18]

Test Your Knowledge:

  1. Visit:  http://metrolibrarysr.evanced.info/pwlogin.asp [19] and login with the demo adminstrative account
    • Username:  staff
    • Password: library
  2. Locate the registration records you entered earlier in this training using the SEARCH ALL PROGRAMS and the ADVANCED SEARCH.
  3. Reset a password [7].
  4. Add a library card number [6] (if not already entered).
  5. Update a record with new or corrected information [6].
  6. Log reading on a participant's behalf [8].
  7. Add a book review on a participant's behalf [12].
  8. TRANSFER [14] one of your account registrations to another program (i.e. move a child registration to the teen program).
  9. Post a REVIEW [20] on your ADULT account regarding how you intend to protect a customer’s privacy/sensitive information when working with the back-end tools.  Think about how we protect a library cardholder’s information currently.
