Gnomes are truly on the Loose at the Metropolitan Library. No less than eight of the gnomes have lost their traveling papers in the past week and I lost track of how many gnomes went wandering around to visit other libraries. Several wanted to visit the new Northwest Library and they all showed up at one time to visit and have a look around.
Mary Sholly, resident gnome wrangler, has been kept hopping trying to keep the gnomes on their regularly scheduled routes. We should all make sure to thank her for keeping our gnomes from going too far astray. If it wasn't for Mary then I'm sure Gnarble would be halfway to Fiji this week. He almost caught that plane last week and if it wasn't for her quick thinking and swift feet he would be drinking wine coolers and getting a sunburn in the South Pacific.
We would love to see your picture with the gnome that happens to be visiting your library. Email them to Emily or me and we will post them to the intranet Summer Reading page.
