TLC Upgrade - December 14, 2021

On Tuesday, December 14 after close of business, TLC will be performing an upgrade to CARL.X, CARL.Connect, and CARL.Discovery.

Here are the main highlights of what you will notice:

• Customers can now renew a title that has a hold on it as long as there are more copies on shelf than there are holds on the title. Non-circulating titles will be considered when looking for on shelf copies.
• Upgrades coming to CARL.X include:
  • Damaged items in CARL.X should work as expected.
  • An issue where a BRB was not appearing when an item is hold in transit and a charge is attempting to another customer.
• Upgrades coming CARL.Connect include:
  • More user alerts (counterparts to BRBs in CARL.X) have been added
  • User statuses now match statuses in CARL.X
  • CARL.Connect print receipt formatting is more consistent with CARL.X
  • User information will have Full Legal Name
  • User permissions have been added
• Loan History printing has been improved where customers may print up to 1000 items at a time as well as select a specific date range of items in their loan history.

Auto-renewals will launch January 3, 2021 with more information coming soon.

We want all the problems sent to the same location so that it’s easier to identify widespread problems. IT can and does put in tickets with TLC when there are problems with these systems.
