New eResources-Access World News, HeritageHub, and Newspapers.com

We have a few new genealogy and newspaper resources: Access World News, HeritageHub, and Newspapers.com. 

Access World News may look familiar to those who have used America’s News. The interface is the same, but it’s an upgrade and expansion of America’s News that includes all the same sources plus access to international news sources. This database can be used by students and teachers for research or for general news consumption. It still includes text and image editions of The Oklahoman and Tulsa World. America’s News has been renamed Access World News in the A-Z database listing on our website. 

With the upgrade of Access World News, we also have access to a new genealogy resource called HeritageHub. HeritageHub provides comprehensive coverage of obituaries and death notices from 1704 through today. Manually indexed obituaries enhance search accuracy for deeper family connections. Search by name, year of death, and other keywords to quickly find obituaries, biographical information, and family relationships to help fill out your family tree. Short video tutorials on all our NewsBank resources including Access World News and HeritageHub can be found here.

We also now have Newspapers.com Library Edition. Newspapers.com, owned by Ancestry, contains full runs and portions of runs of well-known, regional and state titles to small local newspapers in the United States and other countries. Used in conjunction with Access World News, Access Newspaper Archive, and our other Historical Newspapers, Newspapers.com will help us fill out our digital newspaper collection for genealogy research. With this much coverage, across time and geography, customers will hopefully be able to find out more about their family history than ever before. One last genealogy update: Ancestry Library Edition has once again extended its remote access use through the end of 2021. There’s never been a better time to dig into our genealogy eResources and promote them to our customers!
