Literary Voices is Moving to Fall!

After careful consideration, the Literary Voices volunteer committee recommended to the board of the Library Endowment Trust (LET/Trust) to move the annual Literary Voices fundraising dinner from April/Spring to September/Fall. We are excited to announce that we have secured Kristin Hannah for Literary Voices 2019 to be held on Wednesday, September 25th at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club.
The author this year is not available for a free event for the public or staff. As the event is a fundraiser to help grow the Library Endowment Trust, we will have sponsorships and tickets available beginning March 1st through the Literary Voices website (currently being updated).
The event was moved to fall due to feedback we have received from authors and agencies over the last several years that, for many of the authors we seek for the event, fall is a better time for touring and appearances due to publishing schedules. This timing also helps to more evenly distribute the coordination of fundraising efforts throughout the year among all nonprofits which support the library (Friends, Trust, Guild, and Special Friends groups).
In the past calendar year, the Library Endowment Trust has allocated funds for Summer Reading, equipment and technology for Outreach to help serve our onsite libraries in senior communities, and, funds for Special Collections growth. The Trust has also proactively worked with Metro on streamlining the giving process for our donors so we have even more opportunities to grow resources by location and department.
