In the kitchen? No fear – RBdigital magazines go with you when you download the new app for iOS, Andriod, or Kindle Fire. You can search for magazines, checkout, and download right in the app, making Thanksgiving prep a breeze. Issues with the app or the website? Contact the Virtual Library. They are available any time the library is open and are as happy to assist staff as members.

An RBDigital cooking and food magazine flyer is attached. Feel free to set the flyer up alongside any holiday cooking displays.

For this week’s open site, I want to hear from you! What are your go-to recipe sites?

Free pie for all responders!

Just kidding. You get a pen.

Was going to answer...

But then I was told the pie is a lie.

I usually go to the Food Network website or Google to find new ideas.

I agree with Sarah

about the pie lie.
I often find good recipes on http://allrecipes.com/
I like the reviews and comments on the site.

Free pen!

I'll do anything for a new pen!

I don't cook much and most of the recipes are way beyond me but I like to read NYT Cooking. The way they describe the food in the articles is almost as delicious as the pictures that accompany them!

Yum!

I typically just google a recipe for whatever I'm craving, but I also use supercook to get ideas for how to use ingredients I need to get rid of. If I just want to browse recipes, I usually go to sortedfood.

i love cooking

I'm vegan, have always loved cooking, and actually plan on becoming a vegan chef, so I do a lot of recipe searches. I use Pinterest, Google, and a lot of YouTube channels like HighCarbHannah, AvantGardeVegan, HotForFood, NaturallyStefanie, CheapLazyVegan, TheHappyPear, and so on. I have come up with some really yummy recipes using theirs as my inspiration. I am making an entire vegan Thanksgiving feast this Thursday. Wish me luck!

good luck

I'm impressed you come up with your own recipes! I am too scared to try.

Thanks!

I did use a few recipes, and honestly, I think the ones I made up myself turned out the best, but it was all really good. I made: A maple-dijon glazed seitan roast with tofu-veggie stuffing (recipe), green bean casserole (recipe), mashed potatoes, gravy from scratch and from the frozen aisle, mac and cheez, dressing, and sweet potatoes with pecans and craisins (so good, I'm doing that again next year!)... and my grandmother made vegan pumpkin and pecan pies that were not very good. Haha all in all, a successful holiday.

yum!

All of that sounds so good! Eh, minus the vegan pies - but she gets points for trying!

I love pinning recipes via

I love pinning recipes via Pinterest, follow lots of food bloggers on Instagram, and like to keep up with the winners of Saveur Magazine's annual Blog Award. My go-to sites are smittenkitchen.com, halfbakedharvest.com, and bonappetit.com. With a new baby on board, I don't have much time to cook, so I'm always on the lookout for simple and nutritious one pot or sheet pan meals that I can easily recreate at home. I love browsing our digital magazines for inspiration!
