Village Renovation - Update

For more than a year, we have been making preparations for updates to the Village Library. I am happy to say that on January 21st, the Village Library closed to the public as we prepare for a 6 week renovation. Village staff, with assistance from others in Maintenance, IT, and other departments, spent the week packing, weeding, shifting, sorting, and stacking materials to prepare to hand the space over to Caddell and Company.

Edmond Library HVAC Upgrade Renovation Project

The Edmond City Council met on Monday, January 28, 2019, to discuss and approve funding for the Edmond Library HVAC Upgrade Renovation Project.   The following Items were approved unanimously by the Edmond City Council.  (http://edmondok.swagit.com/play/01282019-1429/#16)

Cybersecurity Compliance Advanced -- Due 02/28/19

Cybersecurity Compliance (REQ) Advanced Course 36(m) 10(s)

Several specific groups/departments have been identified that are required to complete an additional course ~ "Cybersecurity Compliance (REQ) Advanced"  The advanced course is due to be completed by February 28th, 2019.

Calling all book-loving Volunteers!

The Friends of the Metropolitan Library System hope to have a record number of memberships this year! However, we're still in need of a few hundred volunteers to make Booksale 2019 run as smoothly as possible. Staff members are eligible to volunteer (on your own time, of course) and we ask that you please encourage your interested customers to join us as well. Tax Season is Here!!!

Tax season is here, and we have the resources library customers are looking for!  Check out the library’s tax page for

AARP and VITA offer free tax assistance throughout Oklahoma County and we’ve created a printable flyer listing all of those locations.  This tax help document will be updated throughout tax season as more sites open.   If you are aware of any changes, please notify Julia in EPS.  The library will not be offering tax help at any of our locations this year.

System-Wide Promotions Calendar on the Marketing Page

Marketing has begun adding all system-wide promotions to a Google calendar, so staff can stay in the loop on what we have planned.

The pre-determined themes for each month will determine the types of things that we post on social media, write about in ShelfLife, send customer emails about, advertise and pitch to the media.

New Account Holder Email Campaign

Did you know that MAC sends out emails to new account holders? This is one of the reasons we are asking you to get email addresses from them. We send emails to our new customers every two weeks for three months, introducing them to the incredible services they have available to them with their new library account.
