1st Qtr Safety Training - Bloodborne Pathogens (REQ) 2020

Due March 31, 2020

Public Employees Occupational Health and Safety (PEOSH) Division is responsible for the enforcement of workplace safety and health regulations in the public sector, including: city, county, state, public schools and universities, as well as public trusts. These employers do not fall under the jurisdiction of Federal OSHA.

Bloodborne Pathogens is one of two courses PEOSH requires to be completed by all persons working in the public sector. Organizations can set their standards and parameters on the training as long as it meets specific guidelines. MLS designates the first quarter of every year to complete this requirement. New staff are trained as part of their new hire orientation program when they are onboarded to ensure everyone in the system receives the training to avoid fines and penalties.

MLS wants to ensure staff has the education needed to maintain a safe and healthy work environment when dealing with the public as identified by PEOSH. Staff have three months to complete this training in EduBrite which is approximately 40 minutes due by March 31, 2020.
