March 28-April 3 Reference Survey

The Metropolitan Library System is conducting a system-wide Reference Survey March 28th through April 3rd. The purpose of this survey is to estimate the number of reference and non-reference questions being answered as a result of interactions between staff and library members at each location.

Library staff on duty at each service point, are asked to submit a short, four-question web form for each interaction that they have with a library member during the survey period. The survey form should remain open throughout each staff member's on-desk shift in order to collect this information in real-time.

Examples of reference and non-reference questions are provided in the web form, but it may be helpful to print a copy of these examples for quick reference.

To open the web form, simply follow any Reference Survey link and click Launch on the resulting screen.

Note: If the survey doesn't open after clicking the Launch button, your pop-up blocker may be to blame.

If this happens:

1. At the bottom of your browser, click "Options for this site"
2. Click "Always Allow"
