Library Advocacy Unshushed: Values, evidence, action

I was poking around online & came across an upcoming course called "Library Advocacy Unshushed: Values, evidence, action." It's hosted at edX, which is one of the more popular Massive Open Online Course (or MOOC) sites.

I think this course looks interesting because of its proposal to use evidence-based advocacy to better inform us about the values of libraries & thus strengthen our advocacy efforts whenever & wherever we interact with the public. Not only does the content of the course look interesting, but I also love the idea that we can take this course (and interact) with people around the world who are also interested in librarianship and library advocacy. What better way to learn how to be better advocates for our library than to hear from others who have done so or who are interested in doing so? And finally, the course also helps us meet a number of our strategic goals.

After you watch the video & read about the course, do you think this is something you would be interested in doing?

Neat!

This looks like a very interesting opportunity for continuing ed.

Looks great!

I would love to take this course. While all of it looks very interesting and informative, I'm most intrigued and want to learn more about the current perceptions of libraries and librarians.

Thanks for posting!
