Incentives to Read - November 24th, 2014

  1. Contact with Ronald McDonald Foundation, we are considering possibility of creating a “goal 3” where participants who read beyond goal 2 can earn a book for the charity.
  2. Has needed numbers for “Read for 20”buttons, MAC has 100 ready to go.
  3. Explanations of drawing gifts – will ask programming librarians to research and write up extra information to share with winners.
  4. Teen volunteers could take thank you photos for sponsors.

Exciting News

Originally, staff had a special 'perk' for this summer, permitting us to follow Friday attire guidelines every day from June 1 through July 31.   Good news, Donna extended that 'perk' through August!

Incentives to Read - February 6, 2014

Kay handed out copies of the minutes from last meeting. John Wood (IT) and Kay will finish their library visits on February 7th. These visits helped determine the computer needs for each library location in regards to the new online summer reading program. These visits also helped ensure an overall understanding of the program. Library staff indicated the menu of computer options are wonderful and will help attain the guidelines identified in the Summer Reading Online Registration announcement. Some locations made a some purchase requests that we have forwarded to Anne (IT) and DVS for futher information.

Incentives To Read - January 15, 2014

Kay handed out copies of the minutes from last meeting. Stacy has now joined the ITR to begin the staff training for the reading program. Kay indicated that she and John Wood (IT) started visiting with the Managers of LO to explain the reading program and discuss ways to meet our goal to "ensure participants may also register and/or track online in the library with minimal computer wait time."

Incentives to Read (ITR) Minutes - October 25, 2013

We had a brief discussion of the minutes and a request to be able to print them. Originally the minutes did not have a print button enabled on the Intranet but that is now enabled.

Kellie has added a draft list of questions into Basecamp for each age group that we may want to ask at registration. Each of us need to login to Basecamp and provide feedback and we will discuss it at our November 7 meeting. Kellie reminded us that an asterisk next to a question indicates it is required.

Karen emailed the September 26 minutes to the committee members and the agenda for the meeting today.
Review revised marketing timeline, that was included in the September 26 minutes as an update.

Everyone seemed to think it made sense and covered what we discussed last time.
We anticipate the timeline will basically be the same each year.

Incentives to Read (ITR) Minutes - September 26th, 2013

Karen emailed the September 11 minutes to the committee members. Following is a recap of from that meeting.
The program will provide reading “incentives” rather than “prizes”. Studies show the importance of reading 20 minutes per day so we decided to track minutes read or number of 20 minute sessions.
