Skype Test
The Children’s Cabinet tested Skype and determined that Slack might be a better alternative for our remote meeting needs at this time.
Summer Reading Training
- Kristin and Jessica passed out and reviewed a SR ’18 training guide with the Children’s Cabinet and answered questions.
- EMs will go back to their locations to work with their Management teams to ensure that all frontline staff are trained for SR ’18.
- EPS is available to come out to any library over the summer to provide additional staff training/support.
- 1-2 EPS staff will be attending an upcoming Access Services meeting to review SR ’18.
- Anne, Rondia, and Abigail shared best practices for working with SR teen volunteers.
- It was stressed that it is the entire staff’s responsibility to encourage and build relationships with our teen volunteers.
- The Children’s Cabinet members received SR posters to take back to their locations.
Community Needs Assessment Follow-Up
- EPS and P&A set the following deadlines to complete Phase 1 (Gathering Information) and 2 (Determining Outcomes) of the OBPE process:
- Friday, May 11-Data Collection by Cabinet Members Complete
- Friday, May 25-EPS Review of Data Collection Complete
- Wednesday, May 30-EPS and P&A to meet to identify Needs and desired Outcomes
- Jessica sent data collection instructions to all EMs.
- EPS team leads to follow-up with their teams the week of April 30.
Community Library Tour
- Josh Lewis led the Children’s Cabinet on a tour of Jones, Nicoma Park, Choctaw, Harrah, and Luther libraries.
- The Children’s Cabinet had the opportunity to learn more about the communities that these locations serve.
