Construction Updates - July 9, 2014
BETHANY
- Donna Morris has begun working on a study room space for Bethany Library.
CAPITOL HILL
- To get the design work started, Construction is still working on the following:
- Issue & Approve the FINAL PROGRAMMING REPORT
- Guernsey issued the final report on June 10th, 2014 and the City ofOKC are currently in review.
- Negotiations & Approval of Guernsey Architects Contract Revisions
- Negotiations started on May 23rd and are progressing. They are in round 5
- MLS is still working with the City of OKC on the Construction Budget
- TIF Funding
- Approved by the Oklahoma City Council on July 1st.
- Economic Review Board approval - scheduled for August 17th.
- Land Purchasing – Expected to take up to 10 months, per discussion on July 15th.
- Art - MLS and the City of OKC met on June 23rd at which time it was determined that MLS would control the CH Art procurement process. Donna is issuing a recap of the discussion.
- An Updated Schedule
- Todd hopes design work will be released early Aug.
EDMOND PARKING
- An updated draft (#4) of a Parking Agreement was issued by Edmond on June 24th and comments returned on June 25th.
- THIS JUST IN -
- The Agreement was approved in principle and will be presented to the MLC in July.
- It will be presented to Edmond City Council late July, along with the design contract.
- Design work should start early August and construction in December.
JONES
- MLS met with Jones and Studio in late June to review the latest DD plans and estimate.
- Final DD (Design Development) plans & specs are to be issued July 11th. MLS will have a week to review and Approve. This will officially start the next phase – “CDs” or Construction Documents.
NORTHWEST
- Atlas remains committed to the start of warranty work on August 14th. It is expected to take 3 weeks. It will involve closing the entry off of 122nd street for 5 to 7 days. The work includes the replacement of broken glass, folding partition repairs, repairs to the outside fire sprinkler system, concrete & sealant repairs.
- Construction is still waiting on a decision by the City of OKC regarding repairs to the derrick glazing system.
- Studio is hiring ‘Johnson & Associates’ to create a survey for the monumental sign location.
