Ad-Team Meeting Minutes - June 26, 2013

REPORTS
Information Technology – Anne announced Jimmy Welch’s last day is Friday, June 28th. Anne is continuing to work on year end items.
Development – The Downtown “Learning” sculpture is still receiving minor repairs by artist Matthew Chrysler. The repairs should be finished this Saturday.
Diane is working on year end items as well.
Facilities Maintenance – No New Reports
Human Resources – Lori announced she will be on vacation to Canada for one week beginning Monday.
Lori also attended the National Human Resources Conference in Chicago, Illinois last week and it went well.
MAC – The Marketing Department is working on Summer Reading editorial and advertising plans for next year. Their plans are to focus more on digital media than print in the next year.
Kim will be out of the office Thursday until Monday.
Materials & Outreach – Karen is primarily working on end of year items.
Karen plans on attending ALA.
No other new reports.
Outreach – Dana handed out the Summer Reading Game – Week 3 sign-up results. She stated the overall total is slightly down from last year by 1,418.

- Children – 10,722
- Teens – 2,627
Grand Total = 16,549 sign-ups Last Year (Wk 3) Total = 17,967
Dana also added that the Neighborhood Arts program is continuously going well.
Library Operations & Planning – Kay have been working on the RFP modifications to only be used for the 330 account. The new modifications are on the intranet and can be viewed under the forms tab. Kay attended the managers meeting last week and shared this information.
Tim Spindle is the new Virtual Librarian starting Monday, July 8th.
Kay is also attending ALA.
Library Operations – Out of the Office – Kay reported in Denyvetta’s absence: The Almonte Library produced their internal newsletter entitled the Almonte Bookmark.
Library Operations (Headquarters) – Candace is working on the Staff Recognition Dinner scheduled for Saturday, October 26th at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.
Candace announced there is a Maps 3 - Street Car meeting scheduled for Monday, July 15th. There are two sessions taking place that day at 12:00pm and 6pm.

Administration / Commission – Donna stated she is working on the Edge Initiative. Edge is a management and leadership tool from the Gates Foundation. It provides a snapshot of the library's current public technology services along with steps to make improvements and better serve communities. The Edge Initiative is a voluntary, assessment program that helps libraries connect their services to community priorities. There are seven state library agencies completing a soft launch: California, Connecticut, Illinois, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and Texas. The next Ad Team meeting will take place at the MWC Reed Center.
